PLANING

Our Specialist Planing Division has a wealth of experience in cold planing / scarifying for the removal of deeper concrete / asphalt surfaces that can’t be achieved with shot blasting / grinding.

Shot Blasting

SHOT BLASTING

Shot blasting is the method of choice in providing the correct profile needed prior to the application of new surface layers. This is applicable to both steel and concrete based bridge decks.

Scarifying

SCARIFYING

For more remedial work, such as line marking removal and providing anti skid surfaces on concrete, scarifying is the methodology of choice.

Grinding

GRINDING

Grinding is an important process used on bridge deck substrates, especially steel, where welds for example may need grinding down to a smooth surface. It is also an effective method of reducing high spots on finished surfaces.
